The Stafford Volunteer Fire Department would like to congratulate Rayela Miller-Eaby on successfully completing her training and being officially released as an Ambulance Driver! 👏🚒
Becoming an ambulance driver involves much more than getting behind the wheel. It requires dedication, training, sound judgment, and the ability to operate an emergency vehicle safely under demanding conditions.
🚨 What does it take to become an Ambulance Driver?
Before being released, members must complete the Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) and demonstrate their ability to safely operate an ambulance through practical training and evaluation.
An ambulance driver’s responsibilities include:
đźš‘ Safely operating the ambulance during emergency and non-emergency responses.
🚦 Navigating traffic, intersections, and challenging road conditions while prioritizing everyone’s safety.
🩺 Supporting EMS providers with patient care, equipment, and scene operations.
🔧 Conducting vehicle inspections and ensuring the ambulance is ready for the next call.
🏥 Transporting patients safely while maintaining communication and coordinating with the EMS crew.
Earning an ambulance driver release is an important milestone in a volunteer’s development. It represents countless hours of training, commitment, and a willingness to take on greater responsibility in serving our community.
👏 Please join us in congratulating Rayela on this accomplishment! We’re proud of her continued growth and dedication to the Stafford community.
