| Our probationary firefighters recently spent time working on one of the most fundamental skills in the fire service โ hose pulls and hose line management.
Getting a hose line from the apparatus to the fire sounds simple, but doing it quickly, efficiently, and correctly takes practice. Crews worked on deploying attack lines, advancing hose, managing corners and obstacles, eliminating kinks, and maintaining proper positioning and control of the line.
These basic skills build the foundation our probationary firefighters will rely on throughout their careers. Repetition builds muscle memory, and muscle memory matters when conditions are hot, visibility is limited, and every second counts.
