By Firefighter Kirby Mills
March 10, 2016

Earlier this evening, Engine 2 and Assistant Chief 2 were dispatched to Stafford Ave for a report of a detached garage on fire. Crews arrived on scene to find fire coming out of a window. During their initial attack, a Stafford Volunteer Fire Department firefighter suffered minor injuries as the fire began to move into the attic. The firefighter was transported to the hospital for treatment and has since been released. None of the home's occupants were injured. We appreciate the quick response of the following Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department units: Engine 9, Rescue Engine 14, Engine 7, Tower Ladder 4, Truck 12, Rescue 1, Medic 2, Ambulance 4, Battalion Chief 1 and the Operational Deputy Chief.
